Communication in a business is the backbone. Without communication a business cannot function effectively. Communication contributes to many factors in an organization such as for the staff, productivity, motivation, documentation and more.

People who work for a business have to be able to communicate. If you have different locations that are tied together and the employees are unable to talk to each other nothing will get done. Communication occurs in an organization through devices like email, cell phones, fax machines, meetings, video conferences, and more.

When the staff communicates it allows people to know they are on the same level. Managers need to be able to effectively communicate with employees so they know what their roles are. Employees need a clear understanding of their responsibilities. They also need to know how well they are doing or aspects of their position that can be improved. Morale increases when communication is used effectively throughout the organization to the employees. When morale is high in an organization, productivity is high. It is actually a legal requirement most companies retain email from an organization in case there are any issues. An employee may claim they were wrongfully terminated. If you don’t save data the business may lose a lawsuit you are rightfully entitled to win.

An organization needs communication to be able to work with customers and clients. Communication is what makes a company function in the world today. There are many reasons why a business should have many different methods of communication.
